Boston Estate Planning, Estate Administration, Trust Law, Administration, Tax Law, Practice Areas

At Tyler & Reynolds, we concentrate on estate planning, estate administration, trust law, trust administration and related tax law.  The law governing these practice areas varies from state to state.  Our practice focuses on Massachusetts trusts and estates and estate planning for Massachusetts residents.

Estate Planning and Estate Administration

We work with you to develop a plan to care for your family financially when you are no longer able to control the process personally because of illness or death.  We prepare the legal documents necessary to implement the plan, such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney and health care proxies.  When you become ill or die, we see that your family understands the plan and that it is properly executed.  This may range from administering the estate and filing the required estate tax return, to advising executors and trustees and working with the family long term.  One of our goals is to minimize taxes.  We also assist in administering estates and trusts planned by others but where legal services are required or there are new questions or concerns.

Trust Law and Trust Administration

Members of our firm have served as executors, administrators and trustees and we have represented many outside fiduciaries as well.  We are familiar with the problems which may arise in trusts and estates and the strategies to resolve those problems.  We advise trustees who have questions about how trusts should be administered, including advice on tax issues and interpretation of trust terms.  We also assist beneficiaries in receiving what they are entitled to under the terms of the trust.
